Kisa caught the lighter, grinned, and shoved it back into her bag. "I can see why. You seem very different from him though."

"Yeah I know, that's why I've never pursued him: she whispered.

"I didn't say it was a bad thing. You should pursue him."

"Right, he's never said anything to me, not two words, and what makes you think a person like me could get a guy like him, He's...everything I'm not." she finished.

Madeline's phone went off again.

I kissed a girl and I liked it. The taste of her cherry chapstick.

Carter glared at his sister.

"What?" She hissed. "Madeline."

"Maddikins?"

"Jalina! Omigod hay. How are you-"

"Mad get off the phone before you get in shit." Her brother smacked her.

"Ouch. Okay I have to go. I'll texted you later okay Jal?" Madeline asked.

"Sure. Later M."

"Meaning that you plus him is a complete person." Kisa said.

She smiled at him, he was funny, she was not. He was wild, she was not, He was everything he wasn't...

Kisa followed her gaze, fixing her eyes on Carter. "He seems to have a way of making people embarrass themselves."

Carter grabbed Madeline's phone.

"Carter." She whined. "Give it back."

"Cell phone for lighter. It's a good trade." He replied.

"No. Your smoking habit is so gross."

"I don't care. Everyone does it."

"I don't does that count?" She hissed.

"Not really Mad." He smiled and leaned across the desk and snatched the lighter from the bag.

"CARTER." Madeline hit him hard.

"Ouch Mad. That hurts. " He snapped.

"I don't CARE"

"Yeah I guess," she started laughing at the exchange.

Kisa couldn't help but laugh. "They're pretty close, aren't they. I wish I had a sibling like that."

Madeline glared at the laughing girl.

"Carter. Give. Me. My. Friken. Phone." she snapped.

"No. My. Darling. Sister." he was taunting her now.

"Carter." her eyes narrowed.

"Me two, I wish I had anything as close as that." she laughed as Maddy glarred at Kisa

"She seems a bit hostile though. Toward me at least." Kisa said, grinning in response to the glare.

She laughed,"Yeah she's always like that"

Carter shifted to his left.

"She's usually better then this." He told Kisa with a wink.

And with that Nicole looked back to the board. How easy it was to destroy her self esteem.

She glanced at Nicole before winking back. Kisa began absentmindedly twirling the lighter in her hand.

Nicole looked at Carter and Kisa, they'd be a good couple.

Carter pulled his feet off the desk and absently tapped the phone on his desk.

"Carter. Stop you're gonna break my phone." Madeline snapped.

"What?" He glanced at his hand "Sorry."

Madeline glowered at him before turning back to the board.

Carter glanced back at Kisa and smiled.

Kisa flashed a smile in return. She looked down at the lighter in her hand and almost dropped it, instead tossing it up in the air and catching it in the other hand.

Madeline glared at Carter.

"You are such a show off." She muttered.

"Am not."

"Are so."

"Not."

"So. And you know it." she finished. That was the end of that argument.

She glanced at the boy sitting in the front. He was much like her own brother. Too sexy for his own good.

Nicole was watching the exchange in sadness. She took off her glasses and set them on the desk. She took two pens and started making a quiet drum beat.

Kisa laughed again. They were just so...sibling-ish.

Zack turned at the sounds coming from behind him. He turned and smiled at the girl who was watching him.

Madeline flashed her dazzling smile and turned to her brother.

Carter was looking sourly at her.
