Diner

"I'm guessing it was pretty bad?"

"Yeah...especially when i went wolf on them.." Then he realized what he said. Crap....

She was half puzzled half amused. "You did what?"

"To tell you, I'd have to explain the whole thing, and then you wouldn't believe me, and then I'd have to freak you out, and you'd never talk to me." He said so quickly it sounded like,
'TotellyouI'dhavetoexplainthewholethingandthenyouwouldn'tbelievemeandthenI'dhavetofreakyououtandyou'dnevertalktome.'
he looked down.

"I missed most of that, but I can't imagine a reason why I would never talk to you."

"Believe me if I showed you what I really meant you'd never talk to me...." he said staring at the table.

"How can you be so sure?" She asked. "And look up!" Sav added, frustratedly.

He looked up, "That's What people do, when they see it, they freak! Then they ignore me. I can't let that happen again, your a friend, I don't want to loose that." he sighed looking in her eyes, "I don't.."

Now she was really curious. Sav sighed. "Fine. Don't tell me. But if you think I'll run away from you just because of some stupid secret you're underestimating me."

He gave into her.."Fine I'll show you," he set money down for the check, "Come on, I need to take you to the forest.."

She grinned triumphantly and let him lead her out of the diner.

"Okay what I'm about to tell you is weird..." He sighed and started explaining about wolves. "I can turn into a wolf because vampires live here." He told her about the vampires and the wolves and their conflict. As the finaly he went behind a tree took off his clothes and turned into a wolf, the soft brown hair blowing gentley in the wind.

"Oh my God. Oh my God." She stepped back, frightened. Over the course of a few minutes she grew braver, taking a small step forward. "Alex?"

Alex whimpered and nodded yes. he nudged her with his muzzle

He was softer than she'd expected, and warmer too. Somehow she wasn't afraid anymore.

Alex leaned into the touch of her hand.

She smiled and ran her fingers through his thick fur. "Yeah, I can see how this would freak the orphans out."

He wolf-smiled. He went back behind the tree to put his clothes back on and came back out. I'm glad you still like me...

She laughed. "Oh, small town drama. Of course I still like you."

"The La Push guys also turn into wolves, but they're a pack, I'm more of a lone...wolf" he smiled.

She laughed. "I imagine that's a lot harder than having a pack...in some ways at least."

Aerrow walked into the diner. It wasn't sunny. That was a good thing. If it had been this would have been impossible.

he went to an empty table and sat there.

"Yeah I suppose it is, so what do you wanna do now??" he asked her.

She shrugged. "The downside of small towns."

"Hmmm...." he agreed. "You pick.." he laughed
