"Sure you do." Kisa said.

"Kisa. You have to understand. Madeline and I have never been separated. There are a few hours when we are, but we are usually together. She's me. I'm her. It's how it works between us." Carter replied.

"I'm not sure I'll ever understand that fully, Carter." Kisa said, thinking of her two-year-old half sister, the only sibling she'd ever had. "But I'll try."

"It's more or less a twin thing. I need her to survive pretty much." Carter replied.

She nodded, understanding, but not understanding (if that makes sense). "Well then we need to find her. But how are we going to get to the train station?"

Carter sighed "By now she's flying into New York. I hate that our parents make us travel so much."

Kisa sighed. "So what, you're just going to give up? Wait for her to come back from New York?"

"I don't know. I don't know what to do with her anymore. I can't find anything that pleases her. Our senior year and we have to move. She was at the top of her reign at Constance. It was good for her. Then we moved and she fell along ways."

"Your parents wouldn't let her stay? I mean, they must trust her at least some to let her have so many parties..."

"They trust her alone. When I am there. I suggested to stay. I don't know. Madeline is special sometimes. I love her a lot. But somedays I don't know."

Kisa nodded. "So why didn't you stay?"

"I don't know. I should have." Carter sighed.

"Not to sound like a terrible person or anything, but I'm glad you didn't."

Carter smiled "I am glad too."

"Still...you need to do something about this thing with Madeline." she said, lighting a cigarette.

Carter sighed "I know. I don't know what. If it weren't for your cousin..."

She rolled her eyes. "He doesn't care about anyone. It's a problem."

"I don't think that's true. He's just like a normal guy. If he doesn't have a sister he won't understand how easily hurt they are."

"That's what I mean, though. He doesn't even notice that he hurts them, he just treats girls like trash and finds someone else every week."

Eve felt bad now. She didn't mean to make Maddy blow up she just wanted her to get a little pissed. It's what Eve did, she pissed people off. But not that much. Will was watching his sister and he knew what was running through her head. He'd known her too long to not know. He knew that she was feeling upset. He hugged her. "I know Evie, I know you didn't mean it."

Carter shook his head "Madeline isn't usually weak. She's just upset over the move and now I think that pushed her to the max."

Eve went outside to talk to Carter and Kisa. "Guys I know this is ALL my fault, and I didn't mean to have her head blast off like a rocket. I'd really like to help, I have my bike and I can chase her down, do you know where she's headed, maybe if I apologize in person...." she said hopefully. Will watched her pleading from inside the shop. "Wow it's been a while since she hasn't been a bitch to people at our school." he muttered quietly.

Carter turned around "You can't help us. No one can. Madeline has a strong mind and she'll do exactly as she says. In this case go back to New York. In fact she's probably already there." He added as he checked his watch.

Kisa sighed. "At this point...we can't stop her."

Carter shook his head "There would be no way. She won't come back now."
